If you just hopped onto Google to see who won NY Giants game today, I have some news that might be a little disappointing if you were all geared up for a Sunday afternoon on the couch.

While the rest of the NFL is tearing it up in the Divisional Round of the playoffs—with the Buffalo Bills and Denver Broncos duking it out as we speak—Big Blue is currently back home in East Rutherford. They aren't in the bracket this year. Honestly, it’s a bit of a bummer for a fan base that’s been starving for a deep January run, but that doesn't mean the team has been quiet. Far from it.
The Last Time They Touched the Field
To find the last "W" for the G-Men, you actually have to look back to their season finale on January 4th. That was the day they absolutely dismantled the Dallas Cowboys.
It was a weirdly satisfying 34-17 win at MetLife. I say "weirdly" because, while beating Dallas is always the goal, that specific victory actually cost the Giants the number one overall pick in the upcoming 2026 NFL Draft. They ended the season 4-13, which sounds pretty dismal on paper, but they finished with two straight wins.
Jaxson Dart, the rookie who’s been the talk of the town, looked like the real deal in that final game. He threw for 231 yards and two touchdowns. One of those was a total "how did he do that?" backhanded flip to Daniel Bellinger. Seeing a kid play with that kind of confidence makes the 4-13 record a lot easier to swallow. It feels like they finally found the guy.
The Massive News You Might Have Missed
Even though they aren't playing today, the Giants actually won the week in a much bigger way. They just landed the biggest fish in the coaching market.
It’s official: John Harbaugh is the new head coach of the New York Giants.
Basically, the Giants front office decided they were done with the "project" coaches and went out and got a Super Bowl winner. They reportedly signed him to a massive five-year deal that makes him one of the highest-paid coaches in the history of the league. It's a huge shift in philosophy for Joe Schoen and the ownership.
- The Harbaugh Factor: He brings instant credibility to a locker room that’s been through the ringer.
- The Staff: Word is he’s bringing Todd Monken with him from Baltimore to run the offense.
- The Roster: He inherits a defense with Dexter Lawrence and Brian Burns, plus a healthy Malik Nabers coming back next year.
What's Next for Big Blue?
Since you can't watch them today, the next big date on your calendar is January 31st for the Senior Bowl, and then the draft in April. Because of those late-season wins, the Giants are currently sitting with the No. 5 overall pick.
It's a weird spot to be in. You want the wins for the culture, but man, that No. 1 pick would have been nice. Still, with Harbaugh at the helm and Dart entering his second year, the "who won the game" searches next January will hopefully be about the playoffs instead of the regular-season finale.
